Rescue teams rushed to the site despite difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions. Medical teams evacuated the injured to nearby military and civilian hospitals for urgent treatment.

The Prime Minister reiterated the nation’s gratitude for the service and sacrifice of the armed forces.
The accident once again drew attention to the dangers faced by military personnel in Jammu and Kashmir.
The region’s steep Himalayan roads, unpredictable weather, and narrow mountain passes pose constant risks.
According to data from India’s Ministry of Defence, military vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir report more than 50 accidents annually.
Many incidents result from difficult terrain, snowfall, landslides, and poor visibility. Several cases receive limited public attention due to ongoing operational and security responsibilities.
Defence officials acknowledged that logistical movement in high-altitude areas remains challenging.
They stressed that soldiers often travel under extreme conditions while maintaining readiness for security duties.
The Doda incident underscored the need for continued focus on road safety, vehicle maintenance, and risk mitigation in forward areas.
Public response to the Prime Minister’s post remained limited in the initial hours. The message received modest engagement, with few likes and minimal replies, reflecting its recent publication.
However, observers noted that such messages form a consistent part of Modi’s communication strategy.
Political analysts said the Prime Minister frequently uses public condolences to honour fallen personnel.
They added that these gestures aim to reinforce national unity and boost troop morale. By publicly acknowledging sacrifices, the leadership signals institutional respect for the armed forces.
The Doda tragedy renewed calls for enhanced safety measures on military routes. It also reminded the nation of the daily risks soldiers face while serving in some of India’s most demanding environments.
