Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk, will hold bilateral talks in New Delhi on Thursday to strengthen cooperation across key sectors and discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The leaders will discuss defence, trade, technology, space, renewable energy, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and India-EU ties.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will also meet Tusk during his three-day visit.
Tusk arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. Minister of State Raj Bhushan Choudhary welcomed him at the airport.
Welcoming the visiting leader, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the high-level visit would provide fresh impetus to the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and deepen the longstanding ties between the two countries.
Tusk is accompanied by Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domanski, and a high-level business delegation.
The visit includes diplomatic engagements and business forums aimed at expanding commercial and strategic cooperation.
The MEA said Tusk’s first visit to India as Polish PM was in 2010, during his earlier tenure.
PM Modi and Tusk last met in Warsaw in 2024, when they elevated bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership.
Tusk will travel to Bengaluru after his Delhi engagements to meet business leaders from the IT and space sectors.
The India-Poland Business Forum will take place in New Delhi on October 22 and in Bengaluru on October 23, bringing together business representatives to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
