Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held detailed talks with Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez in New Delhi. Their discussions covered bilateral relations as well as regional and international matters of shared interest.
The meeting focused on identifying new areas of collaboration between the two nations.
Both leaders reviewed ongoing cooperation and explored possibilities for expanding engagement across multiple sectors.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and several senior officials were present during the meeting.
Taking to X, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted, “PM @narendramodi held wide-ranging discussions with Acting President Delcy Rodríguez of Venezuela today. The leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explored new avenues of cooperation in energy, trade, investment, healthcare, automobiles among others.”
“The leaders also exchanged views on global & regional issues of mutual interest. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the bilateral partnership and advancing the interests of the Global South,” the post read.

Before the PM Modi-Rodriguez talks, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar met the Venezuelan leader in New Delhi. During the interaction, he acknowledged her continued efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries.
Following the meeting, Jaishankar shared his remarks on X, stating, “Pleased to call on Acting President Delcy Rodríguez of Venezuela in New Delhi today. Deeply value her longstanding commitment to the India – Venezuela relationship. Her meeting with PM @narendramodi will further strengthen our cooperation.”
