Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the extensive infrastructure development achieved over the past 11 years, describing it as a key driver of India’s progress and self-reliance.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “It’s been #11YearsOfInfraRevolution, with outstanding infrastructure being added that has enhanced India’s growth trajectory. From railways to highways, ports to airports, India’s rapidly expanding infra network is boosting ‘Ease of Living’ and enhancing prosperity.”

The Prime Minister further emphasised, “India’s push for next-gen infrastructure is powered by sustainability and long term vision. It is laying the foundations of a self-reliant India!”

Among the milestones highlighted were the development of highways and ropeways, improved access to maritime resources, affordable domestic air travel through the UDAN scheme, and major upgrades to the Indian railway system.

This, however, includes the creation of Amrit Bharat Stations, the rollout of Vande Bharat trains, and the launch of the Amrit Bharat Express, all signalling what the Prime Minister called a railway revolution.

A separate post by the Centre on X echoed this sentiment, highlighting India’s commitment to infrastructure-led development.

Smart Cities. Safer Roads. Smoother Commutes — #NewIndia’s Infrastructure Promise,” the post read.

It further added, “India’s infrastructure is racing into the future under PM @narendramodi‘s leadership. It’s a journey where steel and spirit merge, and each milestone carries the hopes of a billion. Highways that shorten distances, bridges that unite communities, and digital networks that spark innovation—India is building more than infrastructure. It’s building confidence, connectivity and a beautiful canvas for every Indian dream.”

This year, the BJP-led NDA government under PM Modi completed 11 years at the Centre.

First taking office on 26 May 2014, PM Modi has described the past decade as a transformative period for the nation’s development.

To mark this milestone, the government has, however, been showcasing achievements across various sectors, with infrastructure highlighted as a symbol of India’s goal of becoming ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

PM Modi, who previously served as Gujarat’s Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014, remains one of India’s longest-serving national leaders.
