Amid the heated campaigning for the Haryana Assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lambasted the Congress party for its politics of “false promises.” He stated that Congress is day-dreaming about forming the next government in Haryana, a goal he believes will never materialize.
Accusations of False Promises
Addressing a rally in Palwal district, PM Modi praised Haryana’s strong work culture. “Haryana has taught us to work hard. Congress’ formula is to neither work nor let others work,” he asserted. He characterized Congress’s politics as limited to false promises, contrasting it with the BJP’s focus on hard work and results.
Making an appeal to the people of Haryana, the Prime Minister urged them to re-elect the BJP with a vast majority. He noted, “Haryana has a track record that whichever government is in power at the Centre, the same government is formed in Haryana.” He referenced Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, claiming that Congress attempted to win over voters with empty promises but faced a strong rebuttal from the electorate.
Call for Re-election
During his address, PM Modi highlighted infighting within the Congress party, suggesting that their internal conflicts are visible to the public, including the Dalit community. “The Dalit community has decided that they will not be fooled by father-son and party dynasties. They will vote based on merit and for those who work for their causes,” he said, drawing applause from the crowd.
The Prime Minister also blamed the Congress party for denying citizens basic amenities despite decades in power. He remarked, “Even today, people do not have access to drinking water, pucca houses, sanitation, and toilets.” Additionally, he criticized Congress for obstructing the construction of the Ram Temple and for not granting full constitutional rights to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi condemned the party for its audacity in thinking of forming the government despite years of misgovernance.
