PM Modi Arrives Panvel, Maharashtra, Amidst Devotional Welcome

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome in Panvel, Maharashtra, from the people of Iskcon, with volunteers singing “Hare Ram, Hare Krishna” and the Prime Minister himself participating by playing cymbals.

Addressing a rally in Panvel on November 20 as part of the Maharashtra Assembly election campaign, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress. He alleged that despite their “Garibi Hatao” slogan, the Congress failed to improve the lives of the poor, instead keeping them in poverty for political gain ¹.

Criticism of Congress’s Policies

PM Modi accused the Congress of prioritizing vote bank politics over the welfare of the poor. “Congress is an expert in working for vote bank, but it is the enemy of the poor,” he stated. He emphasized that his government, on the other hand, is committed to empowering the poor.

Poverty Alleviation Efforts

The Prime Minister highlighted his government’s achievements in poverty alleviation, citing the reduction of 25 crore people below the poverty line in the last 10 years. He attributed this success to his administration’s focus on growth-oriented development, specific poverty alleviation programs, and meeting the minimum needs of the poor ¹.

Call to Action

PM Modi urged the poor to recognize the Congress’s history of hindering their development and to keep them out of power. He emphasized that his government has worked tirelessly to address basic necessities like food, clothing, and shelter.
