PM Modi Announces The Launch Of India’s AI Translation Platform “Bhashini”

During the G20 Digital Economy Working Group Ministers Meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised India’s function as a proving ground for novel solutions. He presented “Bhashini,” a platform for AI-powered language translation meant to advance digital inclusion across India’s numerous languages. He emphasised the scalable, secure, and inclusive nature of India’s digital infrastructure as a response to global issues.

“Bhashini is a platform for language translation powered by artificial intelligence. According to the Prime Minister, it will foster digital inclusion in all of India’s numerous languages.

The prime minister declared, “India is a very varied nation. There are many different languages and dialects spoken today. Every religion in the globe as well as countless cultural traditions are practised there. India has something for everyone, from sophisticated technology to old traditions.

The Prime Minister of India said that because of its diversity, the nation is a great testing ground for innovations and pointed out that a good solution in India may be easily adopted globally. India’s eagerness to share its experiences with the globe was also stated by him.

Secure global digital future

The creation of India Stacks, a global online repository for digital commodities, was announced by the prime minister with the intention of ensuring accessibility. He invited event attendees to work together to establish a virtual centre of excellence for digital skilling and to develop a roadmap for cross-country comparison of digital abilities.

Additionally, he warned G20 participants about the security risks to the global digital economy and emphasised the significance of agreeing on the “G20 High-Level principles for a secure, trusted, and resilient digital economy.”

“As the G20, we have a special chance to provide the framework for an inclusive, affluent, and secure global digital future. Through digital public infrastructure, we can increase productivity and financial inclusion, the prime minister added.
The Prime Minister elaborated on India’s digital economy initiatives and said that the use of mobile phones, Aadhaar, and Jan Dhan accounts had revolutionised financial transactions.
