PM Modi Announces Fast-Track Courts To Crack Down On Paper Leaks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday declared that securing the welfare and future of India’s youth remains the Centre’s foremost responsibility amid continuing protests over examination paper leaks. He announced that the government would establish fast-track courts to deliver speedy justice and impose strict penalties on those involved in such offences.

Sharing the announcement on X, the Prime Minister said he had instructed the concerned departments and officials to take immediate steps to implement the decision. He added that the initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to protect students’ interests and strengthen confidence in the examination system.

PM Modi cautioned that anyone attempting to jeopardise the future of young aspirants would face firm legal action. He asserted that the government would deal decisively with individuals responsible for examination malpractice.

The Prime Minister’s statement followed Union Health Minister JP Nadda’s assurance that the government remains willing to engage with all stakeholders to address concerns surrounding examination paper leaks.

Speaking at a press conference, Nadda said discussions with representatives of the protesting CJP were held in a positive atmosphere, during which the government carefully considered their concerns and requested that they submit their proposals in writing. He also appealed to activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike and participate in the ongoing dialogue process.

Nadda said the government favours a detailed national discussion on examination paper leaks and believes Parliament is the most suitable forum for shaping a lasting policy framework. He clarified that no additional meeting had taken place on Wednesday and reiterated that the Centre remains open to further consultations whenever necessary.
