PM Modi, Amit Shah Pay Tribute To Ram Vilas Paswan On His Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on the occasion of his birth anniversary, praising his unwavering commitment to public welfare and the empowerment of socially and economically weaker communities. He said Ram Vilas Paswan’s remarkable contribution to national service would remain an inspiration for generations.

In his post on X, the Prime Minister said Ram Vilas Paswan worked tirelessly for the welfare of deprived sections of society throughout his political life.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute, saying Ram Vilas Paswan devoted his entire political career to improving the lives of the poor.

Ram Vilas Paswan, who was born on July 5, 1946, in Bihar’s Khagaria district, established the Lok Janshakti Party and built a distinguished parliamentary career with nine terms in the Lok Sabha and two in the Rajya Sabha. He also served as Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution during the PM Modi government’s first two terms.

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan expressed gratitude to PM Modi for remembering his father on the special occasion. He said the Prime Minister’s words reflected immense respect for Ram Vilas Paswan’s ideals and would encourage everyone associated with the party.
