On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted citizens across the country, wishing that the blessings of Maa Durga bring happiness, prosperity, good fortune, and good health.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Heartfelt Navratri greetings to my family members across the country. May this divine occasion of worshipping Shakti bring happiness, good fortune, prosperity, and excellent health to all of you.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted the spiritual significance of the festival, expressing hope that Maa Durga’s blessings would strengthen the nation’s collective resolve towards building a Viksit Bharat.
“May the boundless grace of the Shakti Swaroopa, Mother Durga, bring welfare to everyone, thereby infusing new energy into our resolve for a developed India. Jai Ambe Jagdambe Ma!” the post further read.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his wishes on the occasion.

Significance of Chaitra Navratri
Chaitra Navratri, also known as Ram Navratri, is observed with prayers, fasting, and rituals over nine days, during which devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga.
The festival culminates in Ram Navami, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. It is celebrated across the country with devotion, traditional practices, and vibrant cultural expressions, reflecting India’s spiritual heritage.
