PM Modi Advocates Policy-Driven Governance To Combat Corruption, Exclusive Interview With IANS

In an exclusive interview with IANS on Monday, PM Narendra Modi addressed a myriad of critical issues confronting the nation.

Amongst these were concerns regarding external endorsements of Indian politicians by Pakistan, the imperative of combating corruption, and strategies for fostering ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.

When questioned about Pakistan’s endorsements of political figures like Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal amidst the elections, PM Modi emphasized the resilience of Indian democracy, asserting that external influences would not sway voters.

He expressed concern over the motivations behind such endorsements and called for scrutiny into the matter.

Regarding the government’s stance on corruption, PM Modi outlined a multi-pronged strategy.

He emphasized the importance of policy-driven governance to minimize loopholes and reduce opportunities for corruption.

The Prime Minister highlighted the successful implementation of various schemes aimed at direct benefit transfer, which has minimized intermediaries and curbed corruption.

He underscored the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, emphasizing action based on evidence rather than perception.

Responding to queries on the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, PM Modi emphasized the utilization of India’s vast manpower and abundant resources for self-sufficiency.

He stressed the importance of job creation, localization of wealth, and value addition to agricultural produce for global competitiveness.

PM Modi reiterated his government’s commitment to prioritizing national interests in policy formulation and execution.

In addressing the diverse needs of the nation, PM Modi highlighted the ‘One District One Product’ scheme and emphasized the importance of regional strengths in national development.

He cited examples of initiatives such as the G20 Summits held across India to showcase its diversity and attract global attention.

Reflecting on the success of flagship initiatives like Digital India and Make in India, PM Modi dismissed earlier criticisms from the opposition, emphasizing the transformative impact of technology on governance.

He cited the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as a prime example of India’s technological prowess, which facilitated efficient government aid distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, PM Modi attributed his connect with India’s youth to an understanding of their aspirations and a proactive approach in addressing their concerns.

The PM highlighted efforts such as the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ initiative and interventions during the pandemic to engage and empower the youth digitally.

In the wide-ranging interview, Prime Minister Modi underscored his government’s unwavering commitment to national interests, technological innovation, and inclusive development, reaffirming India’s trajectory towards self-reliance and progress.
