PM Modi Accuses Groups Of Spreading Rumours Over Fertiliser, LPG Shortages

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused certain groups of spreading rumours about fertiliser and LPG shortages amid the ongoing Iran-Gulf conflict. He alleged that these attempts aimed to create public panic and disrupt normal life.

Addressing a gathering in Bhildi, Banaskantha, PM Modi said the country was jointly confronting the global crisis but accused certain groups of circulating false information to spread confusion.

“When the country faces a crisis, some people seem to be happy. The latest example is the war involving Iran and the Gulf region. While India is united in dealing with the situation, these people have been spreading rumours,” he said.

PM Modi said rumours about fertiliser shortages had caused anxiety among farmers and triggered artificial queues. He added that misleading messages about LPG supplies had made women worry about cooking meals and sending their children to school.

“They planned to create chaos in the country so that they could defame Modi,” he alleged.

The Prime Minister assured farmers that the government would maintain uninterrupted fertiliser supplies despite the conflict. He said the Centre had absorbed the sharp rise in international fertiliser prices and raw material costs.

PM Modi cited the price difference between domestic and international markets.

A bag of urea costs around Rs 3,000 internationally but sells for less than Rs 300 in India. Similarly, DAP costs Rs 1,350 for Indian farmers, against an international price exceeding Rs 5,000.

The Prime Minister urged citizens to maintain national unity amid global uncertainty and encouraged young people to join the Run for Unity on October 31, marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary.

PM Modi said this year’s Ekta Parv at Ekta Nagar would begin at 5:30 PM, instead of the usual morning schedule.

During his two-day Gujarat visit, the Prime Minister launched and dedicated development projects worth over Rs 14,000 crore in Banaskantha.
