In between the Israel-Hamas conflict, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar stated that India has always stood for the benefit of Palestine. Pawar mentioned that India’s former Prime Ministers were also firmly in support of Palestine. Following his remarks, Union Minister Piyush Goyal criticized Sharad Pawar, stating that it’s quite distressing when a senior leader makes such statements.

Pawar was part of the same government
Goyal went on to say that Pawar was part of the same government that shed tears during the Batla House encounter and remained passive during terrorist attacks on Indian soil. He emphasized the need to change this mindset and expressed hope that Pawar would now prioritize the nation.

India’s stance had always been in support of the people who originally owned the land. India has never aligned with anyone else and has consistently stood with those who had legitimate ownership.
