Pink Booths To Come Up At 9 Uttar Pradesh Cities For The Safety of Women

Uttar Pradesh government has identified 20 religious cities across 9 cities where it can construct pink booths to ensure safety specially for the women. 1,100 women beat constables in 17 municipal corporations and Gautam Buddha Nagar will receive electric two-wheeler scooters as part of the same initiative.

The Safe City project is set to be executed in three phases within the state, as outlined by the state government. The initial phases will cover 17 municipal corporations and Gautam Budh Nagar. The second phase will cover 57 district headquarters and municipal corporations while the third  phase will involve the incorporation of 143 municipal corporations into the Safe City Project.

B. P. Jogdand, the additional DG of Women and Child Safety Protection announced that in the initial phase of the Safe City Project, Pink Booths will be set up at 20 religious sites in nine cities across the state.

These cities include Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Mathura, Gorakhpur, Agra, Balrampur, and Chitrakoot.  The total cost for the entire project will stand up at Rs 1.66 crore  which has been sanctioned by the home department.

With the set up of these Pink booths, More safer the cities will be and with this CM Yogi’s dream of making Uttar Pradesh a safe paradise will be moving a step closer.
