Prayagraj was the last in the state in terms of voting, 48.97% votes were cast in Phulpur and 51.75% in Allahabad

Prayagraj: In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, Phulpur Lok Sabha seat of Prayagraj is proving to be the worst. Voting took place in  14 Lok Sabha seats in the sixth phase in Uttar Pradesh. According to polling percentage till 9 am, then among all the 14 Lok Sabha seats of UP, Phulpur Lok Sabha is lagging behind in voting. The voting percentage here is only 7.45. Similarly, Ambedkar Nagar has recorded the highest voting of 14.61 percent.

The Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh for which voting is being held on Saturday for the sixth phase of elections include Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Shravasti, Dumariyaganj, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Lalganj (reserved), Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Machhlishahr (reserved) and Bhadohi parliamentary seat. If we talk about the district with the highest voting, Ambedkar Nagar was at the forefront. Here 61.54 percent people exercised their franchise

The voting percentage in Prayagraj’s Allahabad and Phulpur Lok Sabha seats is quite worrying. In the Lok Sabha elections held so far, record voting was recorded in these two seats in 1984. Then 61.03 per cent voting took place in Phulpur and 57.17 per cent in Allahabad. This record has been maintained for 40 years.

Prayagraj is the largest district of UP in terms of population. Prayagraj district has two Lok Sabha seats. The record of highest voting in the Lok Sabha elections held since the country’s independence was in 1984. Then 61.03 and 57.17 percent votes were cast in Phulpur and Allahabad seats respectively. After this, in the 1999 elections, 58.38 percent voting took place in Phulpur Lok Sabha, while the second highest voting percentage of Allahabad seat came in the 1962 elections. Then 54.97 percent votes were cast here. Talking about the

lowest votes on these two seats, 35.66 percent votes were cast in Allahabad seat in 1951 and 38.62 percent votes were cast in Phulpur in the 1957 elections. This time the district administration wants the 1984 record to be broken. However, due to the heat, polling up to 60 percent is no less than a challenge. Talking about the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, about 48.7 percent polling took place in Phulpur and 51.83 percent in Allahabad.
