PM Modi, Leaders Extend Heartfelt Birthday Wishes To Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu

Former Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, received warm greetings from top political leaders on Tuesday as he turned 76, with many lauding his lifelong dedication to public service.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the social media platform X to extend his wishes.

Reflecting on their long-standing association, PM Modi praised Naidu’s dedication to the welfare of the underprivileged and his contributions to national development.

Taking to X, Prime Minister Modi posted, “Best wishes to our former Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu Garu on his birthday. I’ve had the good fortune of working together with Venkaiah Garu for many years. His commitment to public service and empowering the downtrodden is exemplary. Praying for his long and healthy life.”

Last year, Prime Minister Modi released three books documenting Naidu’s political life and reflections.

PM Modi further described Naidu’s legacy as one marked by simplicity and deep political insight. He also praised his ability to bridge divides with grace and determination.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his greetings, acknowledging Naidu’s journey from humble beginnings to high office.

Warm birthday greetings to Shri @MVenkaiahNaidu Ji. Rising from the grassroots to the office of the Vice President, your journey serving the nation and voicing the marginalised is an inspiration for young leaders. Praying to God for your continued good health and long life,” Shah posted on X.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also joined in, calling Venkaiah Naidu’s political path extraordinary.

In a message posted in Telugu and translated loosely, the CM posted, “Heartfelt birthday wishes to the former Vice President of India, the Honourable Shri Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu on the occasion of his 76th birthday. He is a rare individual who entered politics as a student leader and rose to occupy one of the highest constitutional positions in the country. Whether as a legislator, a Rajya Sabha member, or as the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Venkaiah Naidu always considered public service as his ultimate goal. That is his uniqueness. It is this exceptional character that earned him a distinct place in Indian politics. I sincerely wish that Shri Venkaiah Naidu celebrates many more birthdays and continues his dedicated service to the people.”

Born in 1949, Venkaiah Naidu held the office of Vice President from 2017 to 2022. Prior to that, he served in key ministerial roles, including:

  • Urban Development,
