Petrol Diesel Price: Crude Oil Prices Continue To Fall, Change In Petrol-Diesel Prices?

Petrol Diesel Price: Oil companies in India have updated the rates of petrol and diesel amid the fall in crude oil prices in the international market. There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel on 10 December. There has been no change in the price of vehicle fuel in all cities across the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

Petrol Diesel Price: in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad: The price of diesel and gasoline has not changed since 10 December 2022, and prices have been stable for about six months. The most recent nationwide change in fuel prices occurred on May 21, this year, when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and diesel by Rs 6 per litre. Petrol costs Rs 106.31 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel costs Rs 94.27 per litre. In Delhi, the price of petrol and diesel per litre is Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62, respectively.

Kolkata: Petrol price: Rs 106.03 per litre, Diesel price: Rs 92.76 per litre

Bengaluru: Petrol: Rs 101.94 per litre, Diesel: Rs 87.89 per litre

Lucknow: Petrol: Rs 96.57 per litre, Diesel: Rs 89.76 per litre

Noida: Petrol: Rs 96.79 per litre, Diesel: Rs 89.96 per litre

Gurugram: Petrol: Rs 97.18 per litre, Diesel: Rs 90.05 per litre

Chandigarh: Petrol: Rs 96.20 per litre, Diesel: Rs 84.26 per litre

Mumbai: Petrol price: Rs 106.31 per litre, Diesel price: 94.27 per litre

Delhi: Petrol price: Rs 96.72 per litre, Diesel price: Rs 89.62 per litre

Public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise their prices on a daily basis in accordance with international benchmark prices and forex rates. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices take effect at 6 a.m. every day. Petrol and diesel prices vary by state, depending on factors such as Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, and so on.

 Since the central government reduced excise duty, some states have reduced VAT prices on fuels. In July, the Maharashtra government reduced the value-added tax (VAT) on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 3 per litre. Meghalaya was the last state to update fuel prices when it raised VAT on August 24, resulting in petrol costing Rs. 96.83 per litre in Shillong and diesel costing Rs. 84.72 per litre.
