Parliament Session LIVE: PM Modi To Speak On Key Issues Amidst Middle East Situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Lok Sabha at 2 PM on Monday, with a focus on key concerns arising from the ongoing tensions in West Asia and their implications for India’s energy security and economic stability.

His address comes at a crucial time as global markets react to escalating geopolitical developments.

A day earlier, the Prime Minister chaired a high-level review meeting to assess preparedness across critical sectors, including petroleum, crude oil, gas, power, and fertilisers.

The discussions centred on ensuring uninterrupted supply, maintaining stable logistics, and strengthening distribution systems to avoid disruptions in essential services across the country.

Officials briefed PM Modi on current fuel availability and the steps being taken to safeguard India’s energy security.

Sources indicated that the government is closely monitoring global developments and has initiated proactive measures to shield consumers and industries from volatility in international markets.

Efforts are also underway to maintain adequate reserves and reinforce supply chains amid rising uncertainty.

Concerns have grown over potential disruptions to key shipping routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, which handles a significant share of global energy trade.

Earlier, PM Modi held talks with Masoud Pezeshkian, stressing the importance of peace and secure maritime routes.

India has diversified its oil imports, sourcing more from the United States, Russia, and countries such as Nigeria. Officials have maintained that LPG supplies remain stable despite rising demand.
