A Border Security Force (BSF) officer reported on Monday that a Pakistani intruder was shot and killed along the international border in the Pathankot area of Punjab.
According to a BSF official, BSF forces observed suspicious activity at the international border close to Simbal Sakol hamlet in Pathankot district at around three in the morning.
“Our forces confronted the intruder, but he persisted in going towards the boundary wire without stopping. An officer with knowledge of the situation said that BSF personnel opened fire on the miscreant as a self-defense measure and to put an end to further mischief.

Senior BSF personnel from the National Capital arrived in Punjab in the meantime to oversee security measures at the state’s international border.

The soldiers then confronted the invader, but he continued to advance unabated. The official claimed that when they perceived a threat, they opened fire, instantly killing the invader.
The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police earlier on August 13 discovered a Pakistani drone from a well close to the International Border in Punjab’s Tarn Taran area, according to the official.

Acting on specific information, the BSF and Punjab Police conducted a search operation on the outskirts of Lakhna village in Tarn Taran district, where they discovered a broken drone that had been hidden inside a plastic bag that was tied with bricks.
The recovered drone is a quadcopter, the BSF added. “Yet another Pakistani drone recovered by the joint efforts of BSF and Punjab Police,” he continued.
The security personnel also confiscated more than three kilograms of heroin from Ferozepur and Amritsar in two different occurrences. Following a tip, the Ferozepur BSF and Punjab Police discovered three packages of heroin with a gross weight of about 3 kg in a farming area close to Machiwara village.
On August 11, the BSF shot and killed a Pakistani infiltrator along the International Border (IB) in the Tarn Taran region of Punjab. Despite the troops’ challenges, the invader continued to go closer to the border wall. The official said, “BSF personnel opened fire, killing the man on the spot, sensing an impending threat and seeking to halt further misadventure.”
