“Outcomes Of G20 Meeting Is Biggest Achievement For India’s Presidency” – Jaishankar Response To Bharat Express’ Question

Addressing a press conference G20 Development Ministers’ Meeting, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar talked about the outcomes that were on the high-level principles on lifestyle for sustainable development and action plans on accelerating progress in SDGs which is the “biggest achievement” for India’s G20 presidency.

When asked by the Bharat Express reporter, Saurabh Aggarwal about a comprehensive plan of G20 nations on lifestyle and its changes, the foreign minister said, “Talking about G20 presidency, there are 14-15 tracks like environment track, development track, education track, finance track etc. There are multiple tracks and these produce different outcomes. Finally, when we reach the summit level we find ways how to integrate them and give each of the outcomes the right priority at that point of time. ”

Stating an example, S Jaishankar talked about the two outcomes of the summit. The outcomes were of the high-level principles on lifestyle for sustainable development and action plans on accelerating progress in SDGs. The foreign minister called it unanimous and it is central to world development.

‘Biggest achievement’

“It is the biggest achievement of India’s presidency,” he said.

“Today, when the Global South countries will read the outcomes. They will say that India has heard us, India stood for us, India raised our voice before G20 during their presidency.” Adding further, EAM said, “G20 accepted many of those issues and now it is going on certain parts,” he responded to the Bharat Express reporter’s question.

“I think much of what we have done, will be reflected in the summit. But other ministerial will also contribute to what is happening in the summit,” he added.
