Opposition Trying To Defame Ram Temple Ahead Of Polls, Says Dr Dinesh Sharma

Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma on Monday accused the Opposition of attempting to defame the Ram Temple and Sanatan Dharma as elections draw closer. He claimed parties that once questioned Lord Ram’s existence and opposed the construction of the Ram Temple were now using the issue for political gain.

At a tribute meeting for former Minister Kamal Rani Varun in Kanpur, Dr Dinesh Sharma accused the Opposition of insulting Sanatan Dharma and politicising the Ram Temple.

Dr Dinesh Sharma said the BJP works to strengthen the nation and preserve India’s cultural heritage, urged people to remain vigilant ahead of elections, and described Kamal Rani Varun as a true people’s leader. He said she continued serving people even while battling Covid-19 and remained committed to public welfare throughout her political career.

The Rajya Sabha MP added that her dedication continues to inspire BJP workers and public representatives.

The former Deputy Chief Minister also said Sanatan Dharma is the world’s oldest faith and promotes unity and harmony.

Dr Dinesh Sharma said authorities are acting against irregularities linked to the Ram Temple, but accused the Opposition of ignoring these efforts for political gain. He also alleged that Opposition parties opposed laws protecting Vande Mataram and curbing paper leaks, while praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their commitment to public service and accusing the Opposition of trying to tarnish the country’s image.

Several BJP leaders, Ministers, MPs, MLAs and party office-bearers attended the tribute programme.
