Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday stated that Operation Sindoor marks a significant shift in India’s approach to terrorism, highlighting a transition from diplomatic messaging to concrete military action.
Speaking at a national security summit in New Delhi, Singh emphasised that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has moved beyond intent, demonstrating its resolve through decisive operations. He reiterated that terrorism would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Singh described Operation Sindoor, along with earlier surgical and air strikes, as evidence of India’s evolving security doctrine. He said these actions reflect a firm and consistent policy aimed at countering terror threats with precision and determination.
The Defence Minister also criticised Pakistan for its continued association with terrorism, contrasting it with India’s global reputation as a leader in information technology.
Rajnath Singh highlighted the coordinated role of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force during the operation. He noted that the mission demonstrated strong integration and synergy among the three services, reflecting a unified and modern military structure.
The Minister added that India conducted the operation on its own terms, carefully selected targets, and executed them with precision. He indicated that the halt of the operation was a strategic decision, not a limitation of capability, and stressed that India remains prepared to escalate if required.
According to him, the country possesses the capacity to rapidly expand its military response in times of crisis, underscoring readiness for sustained engagement if necessary.
