Operation Sindoor Showcases India’s Joint Military Power At Republic Day Parade

Operation Sindoor emerged as a defining highlight of the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path as Indian Air Force helicopters flew past carrying its flag, underscoring India’s decisive military action against key terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir last year.

The Indian Armed Forces also presented a Tri-Services tableau themed ‘Operation Sindoor: Victory Through Jointness’, reflecting the unity, coordination and combined strength of the Army, Navy and Air Force in protecting national security.

Adding depth to the presentation, the tableau featured the Integrated Operational Centre (IOC), which showcased the success of Operation Sindoor and highlighted the synchronised and coordinated execution of the mission by the armed forces.

Through a glass-enclosed model of the IOC, the display illustrated how national and military leadership carefully planned, guided and continuously monitored the operation, ensuring its effective implementation.

Joint Strength and Advanced Warfare Capabilities

Strong inter-service coordination, along with active support from the local population, was identified as a crucial factor behind the success of Operation Sindoor.

The operation projected a powerful blend of Virasat, Vividhata, and Vikas, presenting heritage, diversity and development as core elements of India’s evolving military doctrine.

The BrahMos missile system delivered precise and decisive strikes on enemy targets. In contrast, the Akash missile systems and the S-400 air defence network formed a robust protective shield for civilian areas under the Sudarshan Chakra concept.

Under the Combat Support Elements segment, the Indian Army displayed Divyastra and Shaktibaan on High Mobility Vehicles (HMV 6×6), highlighting its growing focus on indigenisation and technological modernisation.

The Shaktibaan and Divyastra systems showcased India’s next-generation unmanned warfare capabilities, built around an integrated surveillance and targeting framework.

Equipped with swarm drones, tethered drone systems and the indigenously developed hybrid UAV ZOLT, these platforms play a key role in artillery fire direction and precision-based operations. The Ministry of Defence noted that they enable the deployment of swarm drones, long-range precision-strike drones, and loitering munitions for effective battlefield engagement.

Lieutenant Raman Mishra of the 161 Medium Regiment commanded the Shaktibaan vehicle, while Subedar Kiran Medar from the same regiment led the Divyastra platform, reflecting the professionalism and operational readiness of Indian Army personnel.

Operation Sindoor, launched in May 2025 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, resulted in the neutralisation of over 100 terrorists.
