NSA Ajit Doval Condemns Terrorism, Calls for Rejection of ‘Double Standards’

Doval highlighted the ongoing threat posed by various terror groups in the SCO region, including those recognized by the UN Security Council.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval participated in the meeting of NSAs from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Astana, Kazakhstan. He emphasized India’s commitment to strengthening ties with SCO member states, tracing back centuries. Doval underscored India’s dedication to enhancing transit trade and connectivity while respecting the sovereignty of SCO member states.

He condemned the recent terror attack in Moscow and expressed solidarity with Russia in combating terrorism. Doval reiterated that terrorism, in any form or motive, is unjustifiable, and perpetrators must be swiftly dealt with. He called for accountability of sponsors, financiers, and facilitators of terrorism, stressing the need to abandon double standards.

Regarding Afghanistan, Doval expressed concerns about security and terror networks, emphasizing India’s legitimate interests. He outlined the SCO’s priorities in Afghanistan, including humanitarian assistance, forming an inclusive government, combating terrorism and drug trafficking, and safeguarding the rights of women, children, and minorities.
