Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, delivered a powerful address on ‘Taking Indian Culture to the World’ on the second day of the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC), Mumbai.
Speaking to a packed auditorium, Nita Ambani praised India as a nation where ancient wisdom blends seamlessly with youthful energy and modern growth.
“We are a country enriched by the wisdom of its civilisation, but equally energised by the throbbing energy of the world’s youngest population,” she said. “A country where sacred traditions meet modern dynamism in perfect harmony.”
She emphasised India’s growing economic stature, soon to be the world’s third-largest economy, and its soaring global soft power.
During her keynote, Ambani reflected on India’s immense contributions across fields such as language, mathematics, health, science, and the arts.
“India is the origin of OM, the sound of the birth of our universe. It is the birthplace of zero, shunya, the beginning of the infinite. It is home to Sanskrit, the mother of many languages,” she noted.
She also highlighted India’s leadership in yoga, Ayurveda, classical music, dance, and philosophical thought—from Aryabhatta’s astronomy to Adi Shankaracharya’s Advaita Vedanta.
Calling India a ‘timeless civilisation’, Ambani said the country has long stood for universal values such as truth, non-violence, peace, and unity.
“We are a luminous nation that gave the world the wisdom of the Vedas, the Bhagavad Gita, and the teachings of Gautam Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi. Bharat is where it all began,” she said.
Nita Ambani expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for amplifying India’s global voice.
“For centuries, India gifted the world its wisdom and soul. Somewhere along the way, our voice softened. But now it is rising again—thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering vision and leadership,” she added.
Ambani lauded Indian icons who are spreading India’s spirit across the world, such as Anoushka Shankar and Rishabh Sharma in music, Chef Vikas Khanna in cuisine, and actor Priyanka Chopra in cinema.
“Despite living away from India, they hold the spirit of the nation close to their hearts and are spreading the message of Indianness globally,” she said.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated WAVES 2025 on Thursday. The summit hosts over 10,000 delegates, including 1,000 creators, 300+ companies, and 350+ startups from more than 90 countries.
The event features 42 plenary sessions, 39 breakout sessions, and 32 masterclasses across sectors like broadcasting, infotainment, AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics – Extended Reality), film, and digital media.
WAVES 2025 continues to showcase India’s growing prominence in the global audio-visual and cultural landscape.
