PM Narendra Modi inaugurated, laid the foundation stone, and dedicated multiple infrastructure and development projects worth over ₹58,000 crore in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday.
The Prime Minister inaugurated seven National Highway projects across Andhra Pradesh.
These include the widening of road sections, the construction of road overbridges, subways, and elevated corridors.
The projects are expected to improve road safety, generate employment, and provide seamless connectivity to key religious and tourist destinations like Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Malakonda, and Udayagiri Fort.
The Prime Minister also dedicated major railway projects aimed at enhancing transport infrastructure and regional connectivity.
These include the doubling of the rail line between Bugganapalle Cement Nagar and Panyam stations and the construction of a third rail line between New West Block Hut Cabin and Vijayawada.
These developments will significantly enhance connectivity between Rayalaseema and Amaravati.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth over ₹11,240 crore in Amaravati.
These include the construction of the Legislative Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, various administrative buildings, and housing for more than 5,200 families.
As part of the ₹17,400 crore infrastructure plan, the Prime Minister announced the development of a 320 km world-class transport network, complete with underground utilities and advanced flood management systems.
These projects aim to protect the city from future floods and provide modern urban infrastructure.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for six new National Highway projects and one railway project.
These initiatives include the widening of highways, the construction of elevated corridors, road over bridges, and a half-cloverleaf interchange.
The Rail Over Rail project between Guntakal West and Mallappa Gate will ease freight traffic and decongest Guntakal Junction.
In Visakhapatnam, the Prime Minister laid the foundation for the PM Ekta Mall at Madhurawada.
The mall will support Make in India by promoting local products, empowering artisans, creating jobs, and showcasing indigenous goods globally.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed and felicitated Prime Minister Modi at the event.
The two leaders together marked a significant step forward in the development of Amaravati as a modern capital city, with investments across infrastructure, defence, transport, and industry.
