Nirmal Kapoor, the mother of Bollywood personalities Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor, passed away on May 2 at the age of 90.
She reportedly died due to age-related ailments at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
According to a report by Film Information, Nirmal Kapoor took her last breath at around 5:45 PM on Thursday.
While the Kapoor family has not yet issued an official statement, visuals from outside their residence show family members gathering to mourn her loss.
Paparazzo Viral Bhayani shared footage from outside the Kapoor residence, where Boney Kapoor and his daughter Anshula Kapoor were seen.
Janhvi Kapoor also arrived with her boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya to join the grieving family.
Nirmal Kapoor had recently celebrated her 90th birthday in September 2024.
Anil Kapoor had posted heartfelt wishes on Instagram, writing, “90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day. Blessed to be your child. Happy birthday, Mummy!”
Nirmal Kapoor was married to veteran film producer Surinder Kapoor. Together, they raised four children—Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, and Reena Kapoor.
She is survived by numerous grandchildren who are also well-known in the film industry, including Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, and others.
Nirmal Kapoor’s passing marks the end of an era for the Kapoor family, one of Bollywood’s most influential film dynasties. Her life was a testament to strength, love, and family dedication.
