CBI arrests NHAI general manager
In a significant development, Arvind Kale General Manager of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has been arrested in an alleged bribery case officials said on Sunday.
Arvind Kale, who is also a project director, allegedly received the bribe from a private company, they said. The arrest comes in the wake of an alleged demand of Rs 20 lakh for entry, leading to a raid where Rs 45 lakh has been recovered so far.
CBI Conducts Search Operations
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is undertaking a thorough search operation across five locations, including Nagpur and Bhopal, in connection with a corruption-related case. The focus of the operation is on Arvind Kale, the accused GM working in the NHAI department. Additionally, another private individual has been apprehended in connection with this case.
Cash and Document Recovery
During the ongoing search operation, the CBI seized approximately Rs 45 lakh in cash along with several vital documents. This substantial recovery underscores the seriousness of the allegations against the accused.

Alleged Corruption
According to sources within the CBI, the accused officer was caught red-handed while demanding Rs 20 lakh from the complainant to facilitate the passage of a bill. This incident led to his immediate arrest by the investigating agency.
