The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government in Odisha is rescheduled to June 12 from June 10. The Bhartiya Janta Party is to form the new Odisha government as the Party has secured a comfortable majority. The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Odisha were conducted in four phases from May 13 to June 1.

Citing the reason behind the delay, the BJP spokesperson Jatin Mohanty said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy in connection with the formation of the government at the Centre. He is going to hold a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu tomorrow (Monday). He will also attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Andhra Pradesh.”

The Odisha oath-taking ceremony has been postponed by two days, according to Mohanty, since Prime Minister Modi would be occupied with other significant programs.

PM Modi is expected to conduct a massive roadshow on June 12 from Jayadev Vihar to Janata Maidan. According to sources, the show will be followed by a news conference at the venue.

PM Modi and VVIPs from other states will grace the oath-taking ceremony that is to take place on Janta Maidan.

Around 40 to 50 thousand people will witness the event of the oath-taking ceremony. The Odisha Police have also made adequate security arrangements at the venue.
