With only a few days remaining before Kerala heads to the polls, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday led a high-energy roadshow in the Beypore Assembly constituency, underlining the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA’s intensified efforts to expand its presence in the state.
Shah, who arrived in Kozhikode on Saturday evening, took out the roadshow along a key route from Mathottam Bijith Junction to Naduvattom, turning the coastal constituency into a vibrant political hub. BJP workers and supporters gathered in large numbers, filling the streets with party flags, banners, and slogans.
Crowds began assembling early in the morning, with many waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of the Union Minister. At around 11:20 a.m., Shah boarded a flower-decorated open-top vehicle and commenced the procession, greeting supporters along the route.
The roadshow moved forward amid drumbeats and loud cheers, with Shah acknowledging the turnout as party workers accompanied the convoy through packed streets. He was joined by advocate K.P. Prakash Babu, the NDA candidate contesting from Beypore.
Key Contest And Campaign Expansion
The Beypore constituency is witnessing a triangular contest, with Prakash Babu facing P.A. Mohamed Riyas of the LDF and P.V. Anvar, an Independent backed by the UDF.
In a post on social media platform X, Shah expressed confidence in the NDA’s electoral prospects, stating that people are looking towards the alliance for transparent governance and development.
The roadshow is part of Shah’s broader campaign tour across Kerala in the final phase of polling. Later in the day, he is scheduled to address public meetings in Kunnathunad and Kattakkada, along with interactions with members of the Pravasi community in Thiruvananthapuram.
He will continue campaigning on Monday with a roadshow in Haripad, Alappuzha district, before returning to New Delhi, as the NDA ramps up efforts to make electoral gains in the state.
