The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) has drafted a comprehensive plan to boost education, social inclusion, and economic opportunities for India’s minority communities.
The initiative was introduced at a high-level national conference attended by policymakers, experts, and stakeholders. The plan focuses on equitable opportunities and welfare measures for marginalized groups.
Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurien inaugurated the event by lighting the traditional lamp. He reiterated the government’s commitment to uplifting minority communities.
Kurien highlighted various welfare schemes and stated that minorities in India enjoy better security and opportunities compared to neighboring nations.

NCM Chairperson Iqbal Singh Lalpura emphasized the commission’s role in addressing key issues. He assured that successful strategies from state minority commissions would be integrated into national policies.
