A few days after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 48 seats in the 90-member legislature to achieve a historic third term in the state, Nayab Singh Saini took the oath of office as the chief minister of Haryana on Thursday.
Saini took the oath of office as Chief Minister for the second time after the BJP formed the government in Haryana for the third consecutive time.
The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya at the event, which took place at Panchkula’s Shalimar Ground.
Following Saini, Anil Vij, a BJP legislator, was sworn in as a cabinet minister in the Haryana government.
Along with BJP leaders Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goel, Arvind Kumar Sharma, and Shyam Singh Rana, MLAs Krishan Lal Panwar of Israna and Rao Narbir Singh of Badshahpur also took an oath of office.

On this day of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Saini prayed at the Valmiki Temple in Panchkula before taking the oath.
At a meeting conducted at the party office in Panchkula on Wednesday, Saini was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party. He then met Governor Dattatreya and asserted his claim to form the next government.
The BJP’s top brass, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were among those present at Saini’s oath-taking ceremony. Media estimates stated that approximately 50,000 people in total attended the massive event.
A number of Union Ministers, including Chief Ministers of numerous states, top party officials, BJP leader Manjinder, Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, Jayant Chaudhary, and Ramdas Athawale, were present at the oath-taking ceremony.
Governor CV Ananda Bose of West Bengal traveled to Chandigarh this morning in order to witness the event.
The event was also attended by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and both of his deputies, Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma.
