The post also highlighted the journey of Tarushi Gaur, a young taekwondo athlete from Chandigarh, as a reflection of this vision in action.
Tarushi began training in taekwondo at the age of four, and commitment, resilience and passion have driven her journey. Over time, she achieved success at national school games, federation-level competitions and CBSE nationals, eventually earning a Guinness World Record.
In 2022, on National Girl Child Day, Prime Minister Modi honoured Tarushi with the Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar. Recalling the occasion, she said the interaction with him left a lasting impact.
“Though he is the Prime Minister, he is still so down to earth and deeply rooted in our culture. He interacts with us kids with so much enthusiasm,” Tarushi mentioned.
“The best moment of my life was receiving the Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar from the Prime Minister and having a live interaction with PM Modi,” she added.
The post noted that the ceremony was broadcast live across schools. It said the event inspired many girls by showing what determination and opportunity can achieve.
It cited flagship initiatives such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Kanya Kelavani. The message also referred to continued encouragement for girls in education, sports, science and innovation, stressing that empowerment remains a key element of governance.
The message concluded by saying that National Girl Child Day is a reminder to believe in daughters and support their aspirations. It added that when girls progress, the nation moves forward.
