Nashik Delegation Observes Mahakumbh Management To Prepare For Kumbh 2027

A high-level delegation from Nashik visited Maha Kumbh Nagar on Tuesday to study the extensive preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025, with the aim of applying learned strategies for Kumbh 2027 in Nashik. The team observed the successful management practices in place and gathered key insights into event coordination for large-scale gatherings.

The delegation, consisting of senior Nashik officials, toured various locations such as ghats, akhadas, and essential service hubs. They closely examined arrangements related to traffic management, crowd control, sanitation, and overall administrative efficiency. The Nashik team will meet with officials from multiple departments on Wednesday to gain a comprehensive understanding of Maha Kumbh’s operational framework.

With Nashik scheduled to host the Kumbh Mela in 2027, the delegation aims to draw lessons from Maha Kumbh 2025’s success and incorporate best practices into their own planning.

Interactive Presentations And Site Inspections

According to Maha Kumbh Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand, the Nashik team is on a two-day study tour. “On Tuesday, after taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, they attended a detailed presentation at the Mela Authority. They also visited the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) and inspected various operational corridors. Later, they toured the Digital Experience Center,” Anand explained. “On Wednesday, the delegation will meet with key officials to delve deeper into the management strategies for Maha Kumbh.”

The presentation highlighted every aspect of event management, from traffic regulation and security to public health services and facilities for devotees. The Prayagraj administration shared insights into integrating digital connectivity, information management, and emergency response systems to ensure smooth operations during the Mela.

Leadership And Key Insights From The Nashik Team

The 20-member delegation from Nashik was led by Divisional Commissioner Dr. Praveen Gedam. Other members included senior officials such as Special Inspector General of Police Dattatraya Karale, District Magistrate Jalaj Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri, and the CEO of Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority, Manik Gursal.

Dr. Gedam shared his vision, saying, “We are committed to making Kumbh Mela 2027 in Nashik as grand as Maha Kumbh 2025. Our team has inspected key sites to analyze the management strategies that have contributed to the success of this massive event. These insights will help us strengthen our preparations for the Nashik Kumbh.”

The delegation specifically focused on managing the flow of devotees, traffic control measures, and healthcare services—crucial components for ensuring the success of any large-scale spiritual gathering.

Integrated Command Control Center: A Model For Efficient Management

A key highlight of the Nashik team’s visit was their tour of the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) in Prayagraj, which plays an instrumental role in monitoring and coordinating various services during Maha Kumbh. The ICCC, equipped with over 2,700 CCTV cameras, provides continuous surveillance across the city to ensure smooth operations. Officials from several sectors, including police, fire services, disaster management, and the Border Security Force (BSF), collaborate at the center to manage the event efficiently.

The delegation observed the coordinated efforts of diverse services, such as railways, telecom, and emergency management, which are integrated at the ICCC to enhance the event’s logistical capabilities. These insights are crucial for Nashik’s preparation in managing their Kumbh Mela effectively.

Digital Maha Kumbh: Enhancing Devotees’ Experience

The delegation also explored the ‘Digital Maha Kumbh’ initiative, which provides real-time information and services to enhance the pilgrimage experience. They visited the telephone call center, which operates 50 dedicated lines to assist citizens with queries related to locating missing persons, addressing complaints, and providing other forms of support. This call center has played a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of millions of visitors during Maha Kumbh.

By observing and learning from Maha Kumbh 2025, the Nashik team aims to adopt these best practices, ensuring a successful and well-organized Kumbh Mela in Nashik in 2027.
