He emphasized that with a little support and guidance, the country’s ‘Nari Shakti’ (women’s power) would become a reliable support system for others.
Initiatives like ‘Namo Drone Didi’ and ‘Lakhpati Didi’ are aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of promoting economic empowerment and financial independence among women, particularly in rural areas.
PM Modi acknowledged the significant contribution of women to various national campaigns, such as Health and Digital India. He highlighted that over 50 percent of participants in the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan are women, and more than 50 percent of the beneficiaries are also women, showcasing the strength of ‘Nari Shakti’.
During the event, the Prime Minister honored ‘Lakhpati Didis’ who have achieved success with the support of the ‘Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission’ and are now mentoring other self-help group members for their upliftment.
PM Modi also facilitated the disbursal of around Rs 8,000 crore in bank loans to self-help groups (SHGs) at subsidized interest rates through Bank Linkage Camps set up by banks in each district. Additionally, he allocated approximately Rs 2,000 crore from the Capitalization Support Fund to SHGs.
