The ball moves to the Hindu side of the court as Allahabad High Court on Thursday allowed the Archaeological Survey of India to survey the Gyanvapi Mosque complex. “Allahabad High Court has said that the ASI survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex will start. Sessions court order is upheld by the High Court,” Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side in Gyanvapi survey case said.
The Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee’s appeal against the Archaeological study of India’s (ASI) study of the mosque complex next to Varanasi’s Kashi Vishwanath Temple was rejected by the Allahabad High Court. The Varanasi district judge’s judgment from July 21 had been contested by the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee.

Muslim Law Board to move to Supreme Court
The Muslim side of the case has decided to make a move against the Allahabad High Court. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board doesn’t seem to be satisfied with the decision of the Allahabad High Court. The board has decided to take a step towards the apex court of the country.
“We are hopeful that justice will be done as this mosque is around 600 years old and Muslims have been offering namaz there for the last 600 years. We also want that the Places of Worship Act should be enforced at all places of worship in the country. The Muslim side will think about approaching SC challenging this order,” said AIMPLB member Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali.

Hindu side to participate in the survey
Vishnu Shankar Jain, a lawyer for the Hindu side, announced that they would participate in the survey after the HC approved the ASI inspection of the Gyanvapi complex. He said, ” The court has agreed with our arguments and allowed a survey (at the Gyanvapi Mosque complex). Now, the ASI survey will commence and we will take part in that.”
