Former President Donald Trump praised tech mogul Elon Musk as a “super genius” and “new star” during a rally at West Palm Beach Convention Center in Florida. Addressing a crowd of supporters, Trump applauded Musk’s efforts in providing Starlink satellite service during Hurricane Helene, which devastated the southeastern US last month.
Trump shared that he had urgently asked Musk to deploy Starlink in North Carolina. “He had that there so fast; it was incredible. It saved a lot of lives,” Trump said, emphasizing the billionaire’s quick response. Calling Musk a “special guy,” Trump added, “We have to protect our geniuses. We don’t have that many of them.”
Musk has openly backed Trump’s campaign, rallying support in crucial swing states and promoting Trump on his platform, X. The tech billionaire has also donated over $119 million to Trump’s America PAC, furthering his role in the campaign.
On X, Musk congratulated Trump on recent victories, stating, “The people of America gave @realDonaldTrump a crystal-clear mandate for change tonight.” Musk’s post generated record engagement on the platform. He praised Trump’s resilience, adding, “They tried to kill him, bankrupt him, and imprison him forever.”
Expressing admiration, Trump told supporters, “We have a new star… a star is born – Elon!” Musk, who leads Tesla, SpaceX, and X, often voices his support for Trump. Both figures emphasize a vision for a brighter future and a “nation of builders.”
