Modi Story Highlights How Ambedkar’s Vision Continues To Shape India’s Governance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in honouring Dr BR Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Diwas, recalling his unwavering commitment to constitutional values, justice and equality.

As tributes poured in, social media platform Modi Story shared a detailed reflection on how Ambedkar’s principles continue to resonate in today’s governance.

In its post, Modi Story observed that Ambedkar’s commitment to dignity and equality aligns with the government’s guiding ethos of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’.

It noted that Ambedkar’s vision of uplifting the poorest sections finds expression in the government’s welfare programmes, particularly the milestone achievement of lifting nearly 25 crore citizens out of poverty in the past decade.

The platform emphasised that this progress reflects Ambedkar’s hope for an India where constitutional promises translate into measurable improvements in people’s lives.

Tracing Ambedkar’s Influence in Gujarat’s Governance Model

Modi Story also revisited the period when Narendra Modi served as Chief Minister of Gujarat, highlighting the numerous welfare and social empowerment initiatives implemented during his tenure.

Over a hundred schemes were launched under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, supporting education, sanitation, housing and economic upliftment for marginalised communities.

The Gujarat government also strengthened Ambedkar’s legacy through cultural and educational initiatives. These included the foundation of Ambedkar Bhavan, the installation of his statues, and the launch of the Samvidhan Yatra to expand constitutional awareness.

The Swachh Gujarat Maha Abhiyan, introduced on Ambedkar Jayanti in 2007, symbolically linked cleanliness with civic responsibility and Ambedkar’s values.

After assuming office as Prime Minister, PM Modi expanded this vision nationally. The creation of Panchteerth connected five major places associated with Ambedkar’s life, transforming them into a collective heritage journey.

International recognition also grew with the establishment of memorials in London and Delhi, and the creation of the Dr Ambedkar International Centre for Socio-Economic Transformation in Janpath.

In 2015, the government formally declared Constitution Day, fostering deeper public respect for Ambedkar’s intellectual and moral legacy.

PM Modi has consistently acknowledged Ambedkar as one of India’s earliest economic thinkers.

The government reflects its contributions through initiatives such as ASIIM (2020), which supports innovation among SC youth, and PM-AJAY (2021), which aims to improve socio-economic indicators within SC communities.

As Modi Story concludes, Ambedkar’s ideals continue to guide India’s social and economic direction, remaining living principles rather than relics of history.
