MLA Rajeshwar Singh Urges CM to Oversee AI Implementation in UP

During a recent meeting with Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Sarojininagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh emphasized the need to establish a dedicated committee or monitoring commission focused on artificial intelligence (AI). Dr. Singh submitted a formal letter to the Chief Minister, proposing the formation of such a body with key officials including the Principal Secretary, Special Secretary, and Secretary (IT) serving as members.

Dr. Singh underscored the significance of Uttar Pradesh, not only as the most populous state but also as the fastest-growing economic entity in the nation. He highlighted the transformative potential of AI across various sectors such as education, healthcare, and employment within the state.

Furthermore, Dr. Singh emphasized that neither the state nor the central government has yet instituted a commission specifically aimed at regulating AI usage. He expressed his belief that Uttar Pradesh could lead the way in this regard by establishing a proactive regulatory body. The proposed commission would be tasked with monitoring, controlling, and advising on AI applications, utilizing SWOT analysis to inform policy formulation and strategic planning.

Additionally, Dr. Singh stressed the importance of raising public awareness about AI, including its benefits and potential pitfalls. He highlighted the exponential growth projected for the AI industry, expected to reach $100 billion and expand twentyfold by 2030. Dr. Singh outlined the diverse applications of AI across sectors such as law enforcement, infrastructure development, healthcare, disaster management, environmental conservation, and public welfare.

In advocating for the establishment of an AI monitoring commission, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh envisions Uttar Pradesh taking a pioneering role in harnessing the potential of AI for inclusive growth and sustainable development within the state.
