Miscreants Will Face Action After Kanwar Yatra Ends: CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a firm warning to individuals attempting to disrupt or tarnish the image of the Kanwar Yatra, stating that stringent action will follow once the pilgrimage concludes.

Speaking to the press in Meerut, the Chief Minister revealed, “We have CCTV footage of those trying to defame the yatra by indulging in vandalism. Once the Kanwar Yatra concludes peacefully, we will put up posters of these miscreants and take strict action against them.”

The warning comes amid several viral videos on social media showing some individuals dressed as ‘Kanwariyas’ involved in

  • Causing public disturbances during the yatra

Deliberate Attempts to Defame Kanwar Yatra: CM Yogi

CM Yogi Adityanath accused certain groups of deliberately trying to malign the religious pilgrimage. He said they are using both digital platforms and on-ground mischief to do so.

Calling for responsibility, he urged Kanwar Sanghs and participants to help preserve the spiritual sanctity of the event.

“Those who are trying to defame the Kanwar Yatra under the guise of devotees must be identified and kept away. It is our duty not to let them infiltrate this sacred journey,” the UP CM further noted.

Reiterating the spiritual nature of the yatra and devotion to Lord Shiva, the Chief Minister called on devotees to maintain public decorum and hygiene.

“The administration has made all necessary arrangements, but it is also the responsibility of every pilgrim to ensure that no one is troubled, and no place is dirtied during the yatra,” he asserted, urging pilgrims not to throw waste on roads.

He also emphasised the importance of cooperation with authorities, stating, “If anyone attempts to take the law into their own hands or desecrate the yatra, the police must be informed immediately. The administration is on high alert.”

Reflecting on past administrations, CM Yogi remarked that the Kanwar Yatra was previously neglected.

“Today, you have a government that respects your faith. Let’s work together to ensure this sacred event remains peaceful and respected,” he concluded.
