Mirzapur’s Rajkumar Mishra Becomes Mayor Of Wellingborough, UK; Seeks Blessings From Acharya Pramod Krishnam

Shortly after winning the mayoral race, Rajkumar made a video call to Acharya Pramod Krishnam and took blessings from the spiritual leader and also accepted an invitation to visit Shri Kalki Dham in Sambhal.

Rajkumar Mishra, originally from Bhatewara village in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, has become the mayor of Wellingborough, a city in the United Kingdom. His election to the post marks a proud moment for India on foreign soil.

Shortly after winning the mayoral race, Rajkumar made a video call to Acharya Pramod Krishnam, the Peethadheeshwar of Shri Kalki Dham. He took blessings from the spiritual leader and also accepted an invitation to visit Shri Kalki Dham in Sambhal. Acharya Krishnam later congratulated him on social media, writing, “With heartfelt congratulations and blessings for increasing the pride of India.”

Journey from Mirzapur to London

Rajkumar Mishra’s journey is inspiring. After completing B.Tech, he moved to London for M.Tech. There, he secured a job with an annual salary package of ₹1 crore. Just four months ago, he stepped into politics. He first became a town councilor. Then, in April, he was elected mayor of Wellingborough.

His village Bhatewara, located 10 km from Mirzapur city, is now celebrating. Rajkumar credits his roots. He said, “Mirzapur taught me to be fearless. I got the habit of asking questions there.”

His election has made the Brahmin community and the entire nation proud. Acharya Krishnam called his success a step towards raising India’s stature abroad.

Rajkumar now lives in London with his wife and two children.
