Minor Assaulted In Ghaziabad

A minor was sexually assaulted and beaten in the Brij Vihar area of Link Road, Ghaziabad. The police have arrested the main suspect, but three others remain on the run.

The incident came to light when the victim’s father filed a complaint at the Link Road police station. He accused a local scrap dealer, who belongs to a different community, of sexually assaulting his daughter.

According to Link Road SP Rajneesh Upadhyay, “This is a grave case of sexual assault involving a minor. The victim’s father reported that a man from another community, who works as a junk seller, raped his daughter.”

Following the complaint, the police registered a case under the relevant sections of the law. They have arrested the primary suspect, and the victim has undergone a medical examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Local residents, along with activists, have protested outside the police station. They demand that all involved be brought to justice. Protesters claim that at least four people from the same junk shop were involved in the assault.

Ashish Pal, Vice President of Hindu Pariwar Gau Rakshak Trust, expressed frustration, stating, “We learned about this incident today. It occurred yesterday in Brij Vihar. Four individuals from another community sexually assaulted a minor girl and beat her when she resisted.”

Pal questioned the effectiveness of local police patrolling, noting that the area is served by two police stations: Brij Vihar and Surya Vihar. He asked, “Why hasn’t the police increased patrols in this area?”

He added, “One accused is in custody, while three others are absconding. We demand that all the accused be arrested within the next 2-3 days and that strict action be taken against them.”
