Manoj Tiwari Says BJP Support In West Bengal ‘Beyond Words’ As Party Leads

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said the scale of public support for the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal is ‘beyond words’ as early counting trends pointed to a decisive lead for the party.

Reacting to figures released by the Election Commission of India, Manoj Tiwari thanked voters across the state, saying the mandate reflected strong backing from all sections of society. He indicated that the party was ahead in well over 190 constituencies, placing it comfortably past the halfway mark required to form the government.

The BJP leader said the outcome signals a shift in voter sentiment, adding that people had rejected what he described as issues linked to governance, law and order, and political practices under the All India Trinamool Congress.

Manoj Tiwari also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reinforcing public confidence, pointing to the Prime Minister’s outreach efforts and connection with small traders and ordinary citizens as key factors behind the party’s performance.

The BJP MP referred to incidents such as those reported in RG Kar and Sandeshkhali, along with allegations of corruption and localised political influence, saying voters had responded firmly through the electoral process.

As per the latest trends from the Election Commission, counting is underway in 293 constituencies, with the BJP leading in 191 seats and the Trinamool Congress in 97.

The majority mark in the 294-member Assembly stands at 148.

Polling in the Falta seat in South 24 Parganas district will be held again on May 21, and the result for that constituency will be declared on May 24.
