On Wednesday (9 July 2025), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari participated in an eight-hour-long meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture.
The extended session in Parliament focused on civil aviation safety, a top priority for the Modi government.
Tiwari further emphasised that ensuring safety in India’s aviation sector is a collective responsibility. He praised the committee’s discussion on security and the need for better infrastructure to protect passengers and aviation staff.
Promoting spiritual tourism & cultural heritage
Beyond aviation safety, the committee meeting also explored the promotion of theme-based tourism circuits, particularly spiritual tourism.
Topics included strategies to revitalise religious sites, enhance tourist amenities, and promote cultural heritage, all aimed at strengthening local economies and attracting domestic and international tourists.
Manoj Tiwari highlighted these discussions on his official social media handle.
Taking to X, he posted, “We participated in this historic meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee. Civil aviation safety is a collective responsibility, and promoting religious tourism will help strengthen both our economy and our cultural roots.”

A step toward strengthening national interests
Tiwari’s active participation underscores the growing political focus on integrated infrastructure development and the tourism sector’s potential as a driver of economic growth.
He noted that the meeting reflects the Modi government’s commitment to national interests, particularly through ensuring safer skies and preserving spiritual heritage.
The committee’s efforts, however, align with broader government goals of modernising India’s transport systems and enriching the cultural tourism experience.
With sustained political will and policy support, the government is expected to implement the initiatives discussed in the meeting to enhance India’s global standing as a secure and spiritually rich travel destination.
Policymakers aim to boost aviation safety and local jobs by increasing tourism.
