Manoj Tiwari Blames Opposition For Women’s Reservation Bill Implementation Setback

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Manoj Tiwari has criticised opposition parties over the Women’s Reservation Bill, asserting that their resistance prevented its passage during the implementation stage.

In a video shared on social media, he presented the BJP’s position on the legislation aimed at granting 33 per cent reservation to women.

Tiwari stated that opposition from the Congress and its allies prevented Parliament from passing the bill, which seeks to ensure representation for nearly half of the country’s population. He alleged that these parties are not in favour of granting rightful representation to women.

The BJP MP pointed out that all political parties supported and passed the Women’s Reservation Bill in 2023. He further said that implementing it and carrying out seat delimitation requires a subsequent constitutional amendment.

Highlighting the BJP’s stance, Tiwari referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that the party has consistently supported 33 per cent reservation for women.

Tiwari noted that no government in the past four decades had succeeded in implementing such a measure, but the current government had taken significant steps toward it. He expressed confidence that once the BJP secures the required majority, it will ensure women receive their due representation.

Tiwari emphasised that women deserve adequate space in Parliament and state assemblies and questioned the opposition’s intent. He concluded by urging the public to take note of the developments, asserting that voters, especially women, are aware of who supports their rights.
