Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people across the country to join the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign with renewed enthusiasm as India prepares to celebrate Independence Day.
Speaking during the 136th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi encouraged every family to hoist the national flag respectfully and remember the countless freedom fighters who made India’s independence possible.
The Prime Minister described August 15 as a day that honours the courage and dedication of those who fought for the country’s freedom. He said the Tricolour symbolises India’s constitutional values and reflects the sacrifices made by generations of patriots.
PM Modi said the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative has transformed into a nationwide expression of patriotism, with the national flag proudly displayed in homes, streets and communities across the country. He encouraged citizens to carry forward the campaign this year with the same spirit and commitment.
The Prime Minister invited people to share their ideas and recommendations for the nation through the MyGov platform ahead of Independence Day. He said public participation and fresh suggestions strengthen the country’s collective vision every year.
PM Modi paid tribute to former President and Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ahead of his death anniversary on July 27. He said Dr Kalam devoted his life to inspiring young minds and motivating them to dream big and serve the nation.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the significance of Guru Purnima, urging people to express gratitude to parents, teachers and mentors for shaping their lives. He also conveyed his respect to educators across the country for guiding future generations and contributing to nation-building.
