Karnataka Police have registered 10 FIRs related to the Mandya Violence during the Ganesh Visarjan procession in Nagamangala town. They have launched a manhunt for 94 accused who are currently evading arrest.
As of Friday, police have made 56 arrests. Additionally, Police Inspector Ashok Kumar has been suspended for failing to report a similar incident last year during Ganesha Chaturthi. Inspector Kumar did not alert his superiors about the potential for violence in the sensitive area near the mosque in Badarikoppalu village, according to Mandya SP Mallikarjun Baladandi.

Police sources report that 150 people have been booked for violence and rioting. Authorities have gathered CCTV footage of the absconding suspects and are working to identify them. The FIR includes 16 sections under the BNSS, such as 109, 115, 118, 121, and others.
On Thursday evening, the Mandya District Court sent 52 of the arrested individuals to 14 days of judicial custody. Despite prohibitory orders, Nagamangala town has largely returned to normalcy, though the situation remains tense.
In response to the unrest, police have imposed a curfew until September 14 and conducted a flag march across Nagamangala. They have also deployed additional personnel to maintain law and order.
The riots erupted on Wednesday night when stones were reportedly thrown at a Ganpati idol immersion procession. The violence resulted in the burning of about 25 shops and vehicles from both communities. Following the incident, local Hindus protested at the police station, demanding immediate action against those responsible for the stone pelting.
