Mamata Banerjee Accuses BSF Of Facilitating Infiltrators, Vows TMC Protest

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday accused the Border Security Force (BSF) of facilitating militants and infiltrators from Bangladesh to enter the state. She claimed these actions disrupted peace in the region and warned that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) would protest against such activities.

Speaking at the State Administrative Review Meeting in Kolkata’s Nabanna Sabhaghar, Banerjee alleged that BSF was allowing individuals to cross into India from areas like Islampur, Sitai, and Chopra. She attributed this to a “blueprint” by the central government, asserting that such infiltration would not be possible without their involvement.

The Chief Minister stated that border security was solely the BSF’s responsibility and denied TMC’s involvement in any infiltration activities. She accused the force of allowing the entry of criminals and claimed they committed atrocities against women in border areas.

“The border is under BSF control, not TMC. If they allow infiltrators, the blame lies with them, not us,” Banerjee said. She added that TMC would oppose any attempts to disrupt Bengal’s peace and stability.

Protest Against Central Government’s Role

Banerjee also blamed the central government for not addressing her repeated concerns. She declared that TMC would protest against any measures enabling militants to destabilize the state.

“We have informed the central government several times. If they continue facilitating such disruptions, we will send a protest letter and oppose them,” she added.

Her allegations follow reports of Bangladeshi infiltrators entering the state and creating unrest. The CM’s strong words highlight rising tensions between the state and central governments over border security issues.
