New Delhi witnessed a wave of festive greetings on Wednesday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to wish the nation on Makar Sankranti.
In his message, the Prime Minister invoked the blessings of Lord Surya, hoping the festival brings joy, prosperity, and success to every household.
PM Modi emphasised the traditional sweetness of sesame seeds and jaggery, symbolic of the rich Indian culture.
Taking to X, he posted, “May the Sun God proceed to the heavens; the Lord Sun is in Capricorn. In the Uttarayana, there is great merit; it destroys all sins.”

Union Minister JP Nadda also shared his greetings, calling Makar Sankranti a festival associated with righteousness, service, and charity. He noted that the occasion encourages positivity, equality, and dedication to society, praying for health, prosperity, and good fortune for all.
