The MahaYuti coalition, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, is set to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday in hopes of finalizing a seat-sharing agreement. This meeting coincides with the auspicious Gurupushyamrut Yog, a time considered favorable for negotiations.
Sources within the MahaYuti indicate that approximately 30 seats remain contentious, with the three parties struggling to reach a consensus. Amit Shah has previously encouraged the coalition leaders to contact him if they encounter difficulties in their discussions.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has already traveled to Delhi, while Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar arrived on Wednesday for a joint meeting that was originally scheduled for Wednesday night. The alliance has thus far announced candidates for 182 out of 288 seats—BJP (99), Shiv Sena (45), and NCP (38)—leaving 106 seats without nominees.
Efforts to finalize the agreement have emphasized social engineering and the re-nomination of many incumbent legislators to maintain stability within the coalition.
A previous meeting planned for Wednesday night did not occur due to a communication mishap; Chief Minister Shinde was not informed and had already departed for Goa following a visit to the Goddess Kamakhya temple in Guwahati. Meanwhile, Fadnavis, Pawar, and other leaders had already arrived in Delhi, unaware of the change in plans.
Efforts to contact Shinde after he left were ultimately too late, as he was engaged in a pre-planned event for BJP leader Nilesh Rane’s induction into Shiv Sena. Following the rally, Shinde returned to Mumbai late Wednesday night.
The rescheduled meeting on Thursday morning is crucial for the MahaYuti coalition as they seek to solidify their electoral strategy ahead of the upcoming elections.
